Description: Coastal Georgia Greenway celebrates the addition of Belle’s Ferry to the Coastal Georgia Greenway route (and the East Coast Greenway). Chatham County Commissioner Pat Shay has agreed to be our guest speaker for the dedication ceremony that will be held at the CGG Kiosk between the Trade Center and the Westin 9:45a. Ride Registration will begin at 9 at the Waving Girl Dock. Following the dedication, all are invited to join the ride that will follow. At 10:10 we will depart on the ferry and ride to the Waving Girl dock where we will meet with other riders and begin the bike ride at 10:30. The ride is free and open to the public. Riders must bring their own bicycles and are encouraged to were bike helmets. The ride will also help highlight a missing link in Savannah’s bike/ped network–the long overdue Truman Parkway Linear Trail. This stalled County project would connect Daffin Park and Lake Mayer Park with a nonmotorized multi-use path! So, you could hop on the ferry from the Trade Center, pop over to River Street, head over to Price Street, wander down to Ardsley Park, pick up Washington Avenue, head over to Daffin Park and, well, you get the picture. Ride begins around 10:30 a.m.
